If you plan to work with us as a coach / team manager at the Coolum Football Club this year we have a Coach’s Season Briefing on Friday (24th of February) at 6:30pm at the club. We would like to meet with all of the competitive team coaches / managers and it would be great if SSF coaches could come as well.

Please try to make it as we share important information about our schedule, club rules, equipment policy, coach education and other courses.

The team bonding event started  with a great result. CFC’s Reserve team had a victorious 10-0 game against the Surfers 2^nd division team. Two strikers Josh Phelps, and Joshua Aubry both scored a hat-trick, Dave Bevan had a double, while Gavin Dobbs and Nick Skinner scored one goal each. Head Coach Gabor Ganczer said the boys did a great job on an extremely hot Saturday afternoon.

Because of injuries and other duties the first division team started without four starting players. Even so only a few individual mistakes cost Coolum two early goals and another one later in the first half made the third.

Scott Unterrheiner scored the premier side’s only goal, finishing in a 1-3 result.

Coming Up:
Coolum 1st, Reserve and 3rd division team will start their competitive season on Tuesday with Coolum hosting the first round of the Johnny Warren Cup.
Coolum 3rds take on Buderim at 6.30pm and Coolum 1sts take on Noosa 2nds at 8:30pm, while the 2nds take on NYU away at 6:30pm

Then Surfers Paradise ASC comes to the Sunshine Coast to play the second leg of the two clubs’ pre-season fixtures on Saturday. Reserve team’s kick-off is at 3.00pm, and the two premier team’s clash is at 5.00pm at Coolum.

At the Sunshine Coast Football Zone’s season launch, the officials revealed the 2012 Season Fixtures. Coolum FC starts its campaign with three home games: 3rd of March Coolum v Kawana, 10th of March Coolum v Beegees, 17th of March Coolum v Caloundra (Reserves kick of at 5.00pm, Premiers kick-off at 7.00pm).

The club President Justin Gerbic said, “that a strong club presence is needed for Coolum. One that the town can be proud of and will be able to support at home games”.

“Instead of being just a club at the northern end of Coolum, our club is working in with business’ and residents to forge a new interest in football. Our club has taken on many new and existing sponsors from the local community and in doing so needs to be able to show them that we are a strong contender in all our endeavours.”

“With a game plan throughout the club of a passing style of football, the club believes that through enjoyment will come confidence and through confidence will come results.”
